Pathaan: Why Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film is a big deal

The latest movie from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Pathaan, which comes out on Wednesday, has been making news in India for a few weeks.

Given that Khan is one of India's biggest and most beloved stars, the interest is not surprising. Beguiling, amusing and with a great many fans at home and abroad, the entertainer is much of the time depicted as Bollywood's "most significant social product", whose prominence goes past his movies. He is affectionately referred to as King Khan or the King of Bollywood by his fans.

After a hiatus of four years, Pathaan marks his directorial debut.

After a number of setbacks in his personal and professional life, the 57-year-old is making a comeback on the big screen. These setbacks include the arrest of his son Aryan Khan last year on false charges of drug possession, which were eventually dropped, and a number of films that didn't do well.

The gap has sparked interest in Khan as well as increased scrutiny of the film, which also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, one of India's most well-known stars.
Beginning in December when the producers started delivering limited time recordings of Pathaan's tunes, the film has been the subject of perpetual chat via web-based entertainment
What's more, when its trailer dropped on 10 January, the fan furor topped.
On YouTube, it has been viewed more than 51 million times. The Hindi trailer has received 3.9 million views on Khan's tweet, and the Telugu and Tamil versions have received an additional 500,000 views each.

Advance ticket sales have received an "exceptional response" in the United States, UAE, Germany, and Australia, according to reports.

Fans have referred to the plot as a crossover between Mission Impossible and James Bond films, but it is fairly predictable.

A psychological oppressor bunch is trying to obliterate India with "an assault they could never have envisioned". The authorities are rushing to fight them, but there is not much time left. In question is the nation's future. Thus, they set their best man to work.

An unmistakable voice sneers at us, "If you dare to party at Pathaan's house, then I will have to come to greet you - with fireworks," as Khan appears.

A smooth covert operative with disheveled hair and etched biceps and abs, Khan easily brings down foes, bounces on moving vehicles, rappels down high rises and lures ladies while attempting to save his country from insidious powers, drove by Abraham. A beating music track goes with the shots.

Why Shah Rukh Khan's charm has endured "Why do you like Shah Rukh Khan?"
